Cassie M. Leightner, M.D.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Dr. Leightner graduated cum laude with a minor in Hispanic Human and Health Services. She went on to complete her Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a Master of Public Health. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent’s in Indianapolis, with concentrations in Maternal Child Health and Global Health.

Dr. Leightner’s unique background gave her the experience and confidence to work with patients of all ages and stages of life. She served in the U.S. Air Force and the Iowa National Guard, including roles as a family medicine physician and flight surgeon. Most recently, she practiced family medicine at Sioux Center Health (SCH). At SCH, Dr. Leightner routinely saw patients in a variety of settings including the emergency room preparing her to take care of anything that walks through the door.

Dr. Leightner believes patients should feel supported and empowered to make well-informed decisions about their health. She sees medications and medical interventions as important tools when appropriate, while also emphasizing lifestyle choices and underlying factors that influence long-term health. Her approach centers on prevention, education, and partnership.

She is especially excited to join Priority Physicians because the practice model allows her the time to truly listen, understand each patient’s individual needs, and build meaningful relationships beyond the chart. She is particularly interested in developing relationships with patients of all ages, from infants to older adults.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Leightner enjoys spending time with her husband and their four young boys, cooking (with a special interest in food as medicine), and staying active, from bike rides with her kids to training for a 5K. She also enjoys scuba diving, traveling, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
